La Vie en Rose

This past week I’ve been feeling the summer vibe a bit more and pink pops of color have been showing up in outfits all over style guides and fashion magazines. While I don’t typically care for the ultra-femme look of pink, I enjoy a good pastel rose piece every once in a while. For these ensembles, I chose to pair very soft shades of pink with complimentary neutral colors for a dressy, casual, and edgy cool look.

For this first look, I went with a simple light pink dress that could be dressed up or down. The best part about all of these pieces is that they’re very affordable on any budget. This H&M Draped Dress is breezy and incredibly simple – just put on some strappy heels and go! The bracelets are also from H&M and, while I they don’t have the exact set I purchased a few months ago, their online bracelet selection included some similar pieces that would work with this look. Forever 21 also has some similar bracelets here and their accessories section seems to go on…well, forever! The purse is also from Forever 21 and I love how the neutral beige color works with everything from casual to more dressy looks. I wanted the earrings to be simple enough to enhance the look without complicating it. For a flirty summer ensemble, you can’t go wrong with this look for work or play!

I’ve been running around with my daughter quite a bit this week and wanted to create a look that was both fun and functional. Rather than going all pink for this look, I just added a couple pops of color in my statement necklace and heels to add visual interest to an otherwise simple ensemble. Fit is very important for any style, so I made sure to go with my perfect-fitting Zara Jeggings  and organic cotton asymmetric hem T-shirt. These are go-to pieces that make any look appear effortless and chic. I made sure to wear simple nude drop earrings to balance my H&M statement necklace and avoided wearing any conspicuous ring or bracelets so that I could maintain this outfit’s casual flair. My shoes are also from H&M, and I love their chic midi heel for those days when I have to run around carrying a nine-month-old but still want a little height. I’d also suggest this gorgeous H&M nude sandal for those hot summer days! Ok, let’s talk about the bag. Yes, it’s a Prada *cue eye roll* and, while I know this brand isn’t exactly known for being affordable, there are SO many other options out there to replicate this look. To stick with our pink theme, I’m completely in love with this pink tasseled Zara bucket bag and Forever 21 also has a chic structured nude tote that’s perfect for busy summer days!

This final look was super fun to think up since I wanted to highlight the paradox between a feminine and flirty look with my edgy shaved pixie. I chose to layer a black balconette bra underneath a semi-sheer pastel pink shirt to create a bit of visual interest to the top portion of the look. I paired this with my black Clean Wash Forever 21 High Waisted shorts and simple H&M black sandalettes to create a clean slate on bottom that didn’t compete with the more complex layering on top. To accessorize, I grabbed my black leather backpack again, – here’s a more affordable version from Forever 21 – put in some classic pink drop earrings, and grabbed my vintage Ray Ban sunglasses. I love how this ensemble walks the link between elegantly feminine and edgy!

      Hi Eni!

Thank you so much for your comment! I really love your looks as well – especially the summer print outfit with the yellow cropped shirt! It’s such a fun look that I wouldn’t normally put together on my own but I think you may have inspired me ;D
